Forest School

Forest School is a unique and unstructured program that encourages children to thrive in a natural setting. Unlike our more structured Outdoor Learning – Enrichment Pods, which has a more academic enrichment focus working to help families meet BC curricular outcomes, Forest School centres around the joy of play, exploration, and personal growth.

Open Air Learning’s Forest School is modelled after Forest School’s originating in Denmark in the 1980s as part of an initiative to expand early childhood education. Through their experiences, children develop essential skills, including resilience, confidence, flexible thinking, and physical literacy.
